My Body is…

By Maria Muzalevskaya on November 17, 2018

My body is … the Russian flag. Despite the fact that I don’t approve Putin, my body is patriotic.

The top part of the flag is white, it’s my common color of skin. Maybe, it’s a bit yellow and beige thanks to my makeup, but it doesn’t matter.

Then a blue color. It’s more complicated. It is not because of my eyes. It’s because of my bruises. I always fall in the street. I even have a good sign: my holiday are usually great if I fall in the beginning of it. Two years ago I had an excellent holiday but before I realized it I had fallen with a gnome statue. It could be a good beginning of a love story but when we were flying he lost his head. And I, of course, got the new bruise.

The last one is a red color. Commonly I’m lucky and in the result of my falling I get only bruises. But sometimes I can fill with blood all around me. In September I fell on the beach. There was  the only one place with asphalt and I fell there. My right knee was scraped and my ankle was skinned. People stared at me awkwardly. But I looked patriotically: I was in red swimwear and with red knee.

And now I’m ok. I spend a good time. This is weird, actually. But I have one evening and three days. Maybe, I’ll return in Moscow limping, who knows?

P. S. The next day after I had written it I fell when I was going upstairs to watch an ancient church.
