Palpable

By Emma Kirakosyan on November 19, 2018

Something

That you’ve met before;

Closer

Than the skin you own;

Tethered

To the breath you take;

Daunting

As a sudden quake;

Nails

Piercing skin & bone;

Mourning

Through the night till dawn;

Killing

All that came before;

Quiet

Like a mother’s song;

Burning

Everything inside;

Pounding

Of a heartbeat, fast;

Running

Far into the trees;

Climbing

All the mountains steep;

Where

Will your fingers hide?

How

Can you overcome

The Love

That will never hurt?

A Love

That will always search?
