What makes a thing art?

By Halil Akgündüz on November 17, 2018

First,

The piece has to resonate with people in order to become alive.

You’re sharing a picture of two chairs dumped on the side of the trash. It represents something to you. Maybe the two people you have lost that year. But you just write “loss” on the caption.

No one knows exactly what you’re saying

Some try to understand

Some just like the picture

If you were to write more about the lost ones people would like it more. You’re sure about it. But you still don’t do it.

Sometimes all you need is something that you hide behind.

My name is Halil. I’m a screenwriter, filmmaker, blogger based in İstanbul. I graduated from Istanbul University, Radio, TV and Cinema Department in 2016. I’ve worked in many jobs in the TV and advertisement business but found my actual passion in Robert McKee’s STORY and GENRE Seminar. And it’s screenwriting.
