Write in Armenia 2018 Alumni Continues the Success Stories Series
By Arevik Ashkharoyan on September 26, 2019
This year, in Turkey, Seyhan Erozcelik First Book Poetry Award (Seyhan Erözçelik İlk Kitap Şiir Ödülü) is shared among two young poets: Huseyin Serhat Arikan and Yigit Kerim Arslan. As the name suggests, the award is given for the memory of Seyhan Erozcelik, an important Turkish poet who was awarded several times in his lifetime and was a guest speaker at such notorious universities as Princeton, Yale and Duke where he spoke about the Turkish poetry. Huseyin’s first poetry collection, titled A Thousand Yesterdays Tomorrow (Bin Dün Var Yarında) is selected by a group of judges who are also poets. The book includes a poem which Huseyin concluded in Armenia, while participating in the International Writing Camp Write in Armenia 2018.
