Victorious

By Emma Kirakosyan on November 14, 2018

Oh, child,
Did you think
That all your crying,
All the pain
That stopped your smiling
Came to pass
Without My guiding?

Did you think,
For just a moment,
That your wounds have
Scarred your beauty
And left a mark upon the way
That I see your precious face?

Did you think
I carved the stars
In My palms and made them shine
For somebody else?

You’re the crown of My creation.

I can feel you getting breathless
As you gaze at how the sea
Devours the setting sun.
That’s exactly how I feel
When I see your glowing smile.

I have conquered
Space and time
Just to have you
By My side.

I have drunk
The poison, child,
So that you
Can have the wine.

I have walked the oceans through
To reach your heart
And heal those wounds.

I would do it all again,
I would go through all the pain
Just to have you
By My side.
And be sure of this as well:
I would do it even if
There were no one else
But you
Who was breathing in and out
In the galaxies I formed.

None of your mistakes
Deformed or destroyed
The plans I made
Way before you took a breath.

Oh, I know the pain you felt
When you took the wrong step,
And again, and again, and again.

But none of that
Changed the love I feel for you
‘Cause it’s fierce to the point
That I’ll let you feel the cut
On your skin and see the blood
Just to spare you the pain
You would feel
From bones that break.

You are loved
Beyond the limits
That you’ve set upon yourself.

You are cherished
Like a jewel
That was found beyond the depths.

You are guarded
Day and night,
Even when you fail and stumble.

You’re victorious,
My love,
Even when you’re outnumbered.

You are worthy of all of Me:
Let the rest fade away.
None of your mistakes
Will ever
Make My love fade out or change.
