Hello! I’m Maria!

By Maria Muzalevskaya on November 12, 2018

My name is Maria. My surname is Muzalevskaya (some people think that my surname is too complicated).

I live in Moscow and study modern sociology in Lomonosov Moscow State University. My scientific area is feminism. I love to compare its development  in Europe and Russia. Actually, I enjoy making people feel shock when I’m saying that men (not women) were the firsts feminists in Russia.

Except feminism, I write non-fiction. I started doing it occasionally. One day my colleague said that I had written very convincing bullshit and I decided it was a sigh to learn how to do it better.

Early I worked as a curator of projects in event sphere. It was really crazy. I made a plenty of different events (sometimes they were really weird) and I thought my clients were aliens who spoke to me on their own language (honestly, I didn’t always understand them). Anyway, I’m lucky that I could save my mental health.

Apart from organizing  awkward events, I wrote different texts. About events of course. And when I created more than 100 similar texts I thought it was enough, I’d like to write about something else.

So I quit my job and went to some abandoned Russian city to learn yachting. Fortunately, I returned to home alive and then entered to a Masters degree programme. Today I  continue to study feminism, write about me, my friends, family … and politics (I’m interested in this theme too).

And now I’m here, in the Writing camp in Armenia, in a beautiful mountain town Diliǰan. New city – new adventures. See later what happens next.
