Huseyin Serhat Arikan: a new voice in poetry
We are happy to congratulate Huseyin Serhat Arikan, the alumni of the Write in Armenia International Writing Camp 2018 on the occasion of the publication of his book. The book, entitled A Thousand Yesterdays Tomorrow, includes poems which Huseyin wrote in a three year period. It is published by one of the publishing houses adjacent to Kaos Cocuk Parki publishing house, which has been challenging the literary authorities, the work quality and credibility of which have been eroded. Its purpose is to open a new field, in which writers can publish their works free of charge only if the editorial thinks the work is successful and the writer has potential. The publishing house has caused many people to question the existing qualities of many established publishers and literary magazines.
Husein’s poems have been published by more than several different literary magazines in the recent years and this year one of his poems is included to one of the few poetry anthologies that are published in Turkey. He has also received an invitation to attend a literary event in the Middle East Technical University, one of the leading institutions in Turkey in terms of science and liberty. where he will have the presentation of his book and will talk about the poetry.
